Import your store from another platform

What an import does

An import is a one-time, read-only copy. Cartmojo reads your products, customers and orders from your current platform and adds them to your Cartmojo store. Nothing is changed or deleted on the platform you’re moving from.

Imported customers and orders don’t trigger any automations, so nobody gets a welcome or thank-you email just because their record was copied over.

What you’ll need

Each platform asks for different details. The import form explains where to find each one.

1. 1Shopify: your myshopify.com store domain, plus either a Shopify Dev Dashboard app’s Client ID and Client secret, or an Admin API access token from a custom app you already made.
2. 2WooCommerce: your store’s public https address, and a REST API consumer key and consumer secret.
3. 3BigCommerce: your store hash (or API path) and an API access token.
4. 4Volusion: your Generic API URL. It contains your login details, so the form treats it like a password.

Your credentials are only used for this import and are cleared when it finishes.

Run the import

You can run one import at a time. When it finishes you’ll see how many records were saved, skipped or couldn’t be saved, plus any notes from the platform (for example, when it held back some customer details).

1. 1Go to Settings → Import your store.
2. 2Choose the platform you’re moving from and fill in its details.
3. 3Pick what to bring over: products, customers, orders, or all three.
4. 4Choose Start import. Cartmojo checks your details first, then the import runs in the background, so you can keep working.

What isn’t copied

Imports cover products, customers and orders. Pages, navigation, redirects, apps and checkout settings from your old platform aren’t copied, so plan to set those up in Cartmojo.

Very large stores can take longer than an in-app import allows. If yours doesn’t finish, contact us and we’ll help you complete it.

After the import

Imported customers can claim a shopper account on your storefront and see their past orders. You can invite them from Settings → Shopper accounts.
