Set up and open your store
Work through Store setup to get your store ready, then open it to shoppers when you’re happy.
Before you start
Cartmojo is invite-only at the moment. Once you’ve accepted your invitation and created your account, you land in Store setup. Hosted stores are in early access, so we’ll be in touch during onboarding.
Your store is hosted on Cartmojo from the start, but it stays closed to shoppers until you open it. You can take your time: nothing is visible to the public until you choose to launch.
You can get back to Store setup at any time from Home, or from Settings → Store setup.
The setup steps
Store setup has seven steps. You can do them in any order, and each one checks what’s actually true about your store right now.
- 1Store details: your store name, the currency you sell in, and your business address. The address appears in your storefront footer and your marketing emails.
- 2Products: import your catalog from Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Volusion, or add products one at a time.
- 3Payments: connect your own Stripe account.
- 4Shipping: add at least one shipping zone with a rate.
- 5Sales tax: turn on Stripe Tax, or skip this and do it later.
- 6Look: add your logo, colours and fonts, or skip it and style your store later.
- 7Launch: open your store.
What you need before you can open
Four things have to be in place before the Launch step lets you open: your store’s address, at least one product, a connected Stripe account that can take payments, and a shipping zone with a rate.
Sales tax and the look are optional. If something is still missing, the Launch step tells you exactly what.
Opening and closing your store
When everything is ready, choose Open your store on the Launch step. Your storefront goes live at your Cartmojo address, and at your own domain once you’ve connected one.
Changed your mind? Use Close store on the same step. Shoppers will see that the store isn’t open until you open it again.
