Set up shipping zones and rates

Zones

A shipping zone is a group of countries you ship to. Each country can belong to one zone. You can also add one Rest of the world zone that covers every country your other zones don’t.

Checkout can only offer shipping once at least one zone has a rate, so you’ll need one before you open your store.

Rates

Each zone can have several rates, and shoppers see every rate that applies to their cart. A rate can be:

1. 1Flat: always offered in the zone.
2. 2By order value: offered when the cart subtotal falls in a range you set.
3. 3By weight: offered when the cart’s shipping weight falls in a range you set, in kg, g, lb or oz.

To offer free shipping over a certain amount, add an order-value rate starting at that amount and price it at 0.

Add a zone

Weight-based rates use the weights on your product variants. A product without a weight counts as weighing nothing, so add weights if you rely on weight bands.

2. 2Choose Add zone, then pick its countries (or make it the rest of the world).
3. 3Add one or more rates and save.
