Discount codes and gift cards

Discounts

Go to Marketing → Discounts and choose New discount. A discount can be a code shoppers enter, or automatic, applying to every cart that qualifies.

1. 1Choose the type: a percentage off, a fixed amount off, or free shipping.
2. 2Choose what it applies to: the whole order or specific products.
3. 3Optionally set a minimum order value or number of items.
4. 4Optionally limit how many times it can be used in total, or once per customer.
5. 5Optionally set start and end dates. You can also switch a discount off at any time.

If a code stops applying, the cart tells the shopper why, for example that they need to add a little more to reach the minimum.

Issue a gift card

The full gift card code is shown once, when you issue it. After that you’ll see only its last four characters. You can adjust a card’s balance or turn it off from its page.

1. 1Go to Products → Gift cards and choose Issue gift card.
2. 2Set the amount, and optionally the recipient, a message, an expiry date and a private note.
3. 3Choose whether to email it now. You can resend it later.

Sell gift cards on your storefront

Any product whose product type is “Gift card” is sold as a gift card, with its variants as the amounts. When the order is paid, each card is emailed to the buyer.

Shoppers can use gift cards at checkout, on their own or alongside a card payment, and check a balance on your storefront’s gift card page. Gift cards can’t be discounted or used to buy other gift cards.
