Connect your own domain

Before you start

Your store always has a Cartmojo address, and it keeps working after you connect your own domain. You can connect up to five domains to one store.

A subdomain like shop.example.com is the easiest to set up. A bare domain like example.com works too, but it needs A records instead of a CNAME.

Add your domain

1. 1Go to Settings → Domains and choose Add domain.
2. 2Enter the domain and save. Cartmojo shows the DNS records to add.
3. 3Add those records where your domain’s DNS is managed. One is a TXT record that proves you own the domain.
4. 4Come back and choose Check again, or wait: Cartmojo keeps checking pending domains every fifteen minutes for up to seven days.

DNS changes can take a while to spread. If a check doesn’t pass straight away, give it some time before changing anything.

Your main domain

The first domain that passes its checks becomes your main domain. Shoppers who visit your other domains are sent to it, and links in your shopper emails use it. Choose Make main on another domain to change it.

If you remove a domain, shoppers who visit it will get nothing until you point it somewhere else. Your Cartmojo address keeps working.
